A frustrating result but a decent performance and I think we deserved a point.
On the plus side I enjoyed a few pints with mates at the game and then met my latest squeeze in the evening. A Greek goddess. Planning to take her for a meal tomorrow to seal the deal. God, life's good.

moorethanjustananon Agree 3 times in the second half a defender decided to clear when Fab could have. The defence looks like it has lost confidence in him too

I can see where Moyes was coming from but this would have put Declan's back up and added fuel to him wanting to leave.

These Thursday Sunday matches are going to come very difficult for us especially as Moyes doesn't like to change a winning team. We haven't got the luxury of rotating the team so expect a few more flat performances after playing in Europe. Us Tottenham and Leicester all lost after playing on Thursday.

That really hurt to be honest. But we are playing against hundreds of millions with their squad and managed to stay in the game. I think they should be more worried that it took a Lingard strike out of nowhere to beat us. I thought before the age they would win anyway so I think in a strange way this is a positive experience for us.
One thing that is bothering me is our set pieces. What is going on? We look crap. And why is Rice practising to become Gerrard on these set pieces? Can we just keep it simple and put the ball in? set pieces will get us out of jail this season and we should be better. We have so many tall players as well. Its kind of mad how in so many games we just dont do the normal ball in.

Anyone else think that Rice moved the wrong way as Lingard made room for the shot?

Thats pretty much how i saw it. Sancho alone cost more than the 4 players we brought in this summer. They didn't blow us away we were always competitive and we didn't roll over and die like Spurs.
Noble coming on for the penalty was bizarre and wrong, as was no adequate cover for Antonio. Lets hope he plays on Wednesday and we turn the Mancs over.

Whilst I was absolutely fuming yesterday, I looked at it this way.
United have De Gea, Verage, Fernandez, Pobga, Ronaldo and they BARELY beat us, look at the amount of time and money it's taken them to build that team. We have just come back from a brilliant result in Europe, and they barely beat us.
Whilst it's a bitter pill to swallow due to Lingard scoring an absolute worldy and Noble missing a pentalty, but fucking hell have we come a long way in such a short space of time.

I knew we had drawn Man u in the cup, only just realised we play them this weds. Could be quite a different game with quite a few changes to personnel.
He has to use Kral and Lanzini, possibly Johnson and Fredericks to get some game time.

One more thought, yesterday was the first time I started to lose confidence in Fabianski.
He’s been a brilliant keeper for us, but felt he should’ve done better for their first goal and called for / claimed the ball on the attack previous to their second (instead Zouma heads it away, the only time I remember him giving the ball to the opposition in an otherwise brilliant display).
Hope I’m wrong but all did not seem well between the posts today.

Your right the manner of the defeat was gutting, you couldn’t have written a worse script really, but we are light years ahead of the team we were a few years back, the best I’ve seen in decades. We’ve come a long way in a short space of time
